At a glance
One siege per week. The opening time is shown by the in-game event countdown.
Your alliance must control a level 6 city to contest the Capital.
capture to win. If time runs out first, the alliance that held the Capital longest wins.
After the capture, the winning alliance's R5 appoints the King (they can appoint themselves). The first Capital capture also unlocks hero faction buffs for the whole kingdom.
The Deadzone
The Capital is surrounded by a Deadzone with its own rules.

During the siege you score by killing enemy soldiers, and also from your own losses, based on troop level. Holding the Capital also earns points over time.
